Re: Physical system WIP
Physical Speed
Agility and reflexes:
Speed is more than just speed of foot, its speed of the hand, the eye, even the mind. The physical speed stat also determines how quickly the character can react to things, as well as how fast they can maneuver their body in acrobatics. Heros train to have reflexes on-par with their extreme speeds, so as to avoid tripping over their own feet and running in to their own weapons.
Speed advantage:
Heros with higher speed can outrun heros with lower speed, but they can also strike faster, react faster and negotiate obstacles with greater efficacy in less time.
Advantage system:
No tiers of advantage (the two characters have the exact same tier in speed):
The characters are the exact same speed, meaning that neither moves to-quickly for the other to follow and that speed is more or less neutralized, the outcome of the battle will have to be determined by other factors such as, strength, defense, technique and strategy.
1 Tier of advantage:
The advantage is very slight, and not inherently that noticeable to anyone. However if both characters sprinted side by side at the exact same time after a while the character with advantage would be able to start inching ahead of the disadvantaged character and could turn and stop just in-front of them to close them off
2 Tiers of advantage:
The ninja with advantage is just too quick for the disadvantaged ninja, able to physically outrun them in any purely athletic chase situation, though that doesn’t do the ninja with advantage good in much other than getting away it also means that in chase situations they can close a gap between them and the disadvantaged ninja and will catch up to them unless the disadvantage ninja has a prepared escape method or a fitting distraction to break the chase.
3 Tiers of advantage:
the disadvantaged character can and will get caught on the defensive if not carful, though they can keep up with the character with the advantage, if they get in a pattern of blocking and dodging attacks they will not be able to break that pattern completely with out external help or using larger scale techniques to throw the attacker off (like explosions).
4 Tiers of advantage:
The ninja with advantage can now run circles around the ninja at disadvantage, though the disadvantaged ninja can still follow the movements of the advantaged ninja with their eyes they cannot hope to match them with basic actions, techniques and ninjutsu can however make up some of the difference, but the ninja with advantage can easily avoid injury while the enemy is on the defensive. (like Lee vs Graa with the weights on)
5 Tiers of advantage:
The character with advantage can now execute basic movement actions at speeds faster than the character at disadvantage’s eyes to follow, the advantaged character is now a nothing but a blur and a rush of wind to the disadvantaged character, however the disadvantaged character is still able to gauge where the advantaged character is going to be based off the direction they are moving and can still attack aiming for their path of movement to force them to slow down or change direction.
6 Tiers of advantage:
The hero with advantage can literally run up, strike the disadvantaged character and run away with out the disadvantaged character even seeing them. At this point the character with the disadvantage has no idea where the character with advantage is while they are sprinting, even the footprints in the ground and shifting dust are not suitable enough indicators. They can only turn their heads to follow where they think on they were
Note: epic tier speed gives 6 tiers of advantage against anyone with the added bonus of basic and free actions taking the movement speeds effect (the rules of calling hits and the laws of damage still apply).
